A marketing agency started by a teenager from his bedroom is set to hit four years in business next month.

Harvey Wilkinson started Cotton Digital from his room at his parents’ house as a 17-year-old in 2020.

Now, the business, which takes its name from Burnley’s once many cotton mills, has offices in the town and in Manchester and has plans to expand across the UK.

Cotton Digital has grown year on year since its inception, and Harvey says they have no plans to slow down.

He said: “From doing it all myself in my bedroom to having a team with two offices to help me out, we’ve certainly come a long way, with more losses than I can count, but thankfully there have been more wins than losses.

“We’re growing month on month, working with more and more businesses, and we’re certainly not slowing down.

“Whilst we aren’t doing anything for our fourth birthday, there will definitely be something planned for the fifth next year!”

Cotton Digital was founded as HDW Graphix in 2020, with Harvey working part-time as a graphic designer selling basic logos on Instagram and Facebook.

In the following year came a rebrand to HDW Marketing, which offered social media marketing and website design in Burnley.

Finally, in 2023, Cotton Digital was fully born as a full-service digital marketing agency with a team of six and offices in Burnley and Manchester.
