An Aldi store which has been closed for a refurbishment is set for a grand reopening this week.

The store, at North Valley Retail Park in Colne, closed on February 29.

Aldi will reveal a fresh new look for the store when it re-opens to customers on Thursday, March 14 at 8am.

Standing at 960 sqm of retail space, the transformation is part of Aldi’s £600 million investment into further improving its stores and services across the UK, and is based on feedback from more than 50,000 customers.

The new-look store offers increased space dedicated to British meat and fish, as well as Lacura health and beauty products, beers, wines and spirits, and Mamia babycare products.

The store will also boast an improved ‘food to go’ section, offering a choice of fresh salads, sandwiches and sushi for busy customers.

The format has been created to make shopping easier for customers and the store will now have more space and clearer signs to make shopping easier.

Fresh bread and cakes have been moved to the last aisle, preventing them getting squashed under customers’ shopping, and the store will now offer new, easy-to-browse freezers.

The store employs 28 people from the local community and the refurbishment will create additional jobs.

Colne customers can also take a walk down the ‘aisle of Aldi’, where they will find Specialbuys which are available every Thursday and Sunday.

During re-opening week, the store will be offering a range of baking essentials, including a classic stand mixer for £39.99, assorted bakeware for £2.49 each, and a set of mini baking tools for £3.99.

Store manager, Pete Shaw, said: “The store is looking fantastic, and we can’t wait to welcome our loyal customers back so they can see it for themselves.

“We’re committed to making sure that the shopping experience each customer enjoys in our stores is on a par with the products and service they’re used to.”

The store will be open from 8am until 10pm, from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday it is open from 10am until 4pm.
