UPDATE: A spokesperson for Thwaites has clarified that the Hare and Hounds pub is not looking for new tenants, and only appeared on the company's listing page due to an IT glitch which has now been rectified.

The story has been amended from the original below accordingly.

A popular pub currently run by a father and daughter is not looking for new tenants, after inadvertently being listed on its owners vacancy list.

Thwaites has said the Hare and Hounds in Clayton-le-Moors appeared on the vacancy section of it's website due to an 'IT glitch' and has now been removed.

The popular pub, on Whalley Road, has a bar area, car park and a kitchen as well as upstairs accommodation.

The listing read: “The Hare & Hounds benefits from great kerb appeal and a predominant location on Whalley Road.

“There is a good size car park at the rear of the building with some outside seating and smoking shelter.

“The interior of the pub is well maintained from the last investment and features different sections and seating styles for drinks and dining.

“The pub focusses on the community with drink offers, entertainment and live sports.

“There is a commercial catering kitchen which provides a value lunch menu and an evening menu featuring fresh local produce.

“The living accommodation consists of two bedrooms, lounge, a bathroom and a kitchen.”

Customers are generally local but weekly entertainment and the restaurant are attractions for people from further afield.

The pub shows live sports and has an active social media presence advertising upcoming games, acts and promotions.
