People are being urged to get down to the pop-up vaccination sites in Blackburn before the last one closes at Saturday lunchtime.

Blackburn with Darwen CCG say there are no more pop-up sites planned for next week, so are advising people to attend today or tomorrow for their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

A spokesperson for the CCG said: "There are hundreds of vaccines available today at Revidge Fold Church, Shear Brow until 9pm and tomorrow until 1pm.

"If you are aged 18 and over, subject to eligibility, visit the pop up while it’s here.

"Walk-ins are available but beat the queue by booking here healthierlsc.co.uk/getmyjab

"Show them your booking reference when you arrive and you can go straight in."

It is believed there are around 800 jabs left at Revidge Fold Church, which need to be used by tomorrow.

The pop up clinics are moving to other areas in Pennine from the weekend where cases of the Indian variant are also rising.

The spokesperson added: "The response to the two week focus on increasing vaccinations has been amazing, we just need one final push to use up the last ones as they can’t be moved to the new sites and we don’t want any wastage."

Starting today, people in Pendle can head down to Morrisons car park in Nelson to receive their first Covid vaccine.

Vaccine administration will begin at 1.30pm and the pop-up site will be in situ until 8pm on Friday.

Vaccinations are also being given out at Acorn Medical Centre in Accrington from 9am until 5pm tomorrow.

There are a few walk-in appointments available but people are being urged to book to avoid queuing.
