A luxury caravan site will be built in Hesket Newmarket if it receives the go ahead from the council.
The proposed development, which was revealed to Eden District Council, is for a small scale caravan and luxury camping site with the emphasis on "quality over quantity," says the applicant.
Currently the area at Hewer Hill is used as agricultural and equestrian land.
In planning documents, a vision is included for pitches forming of 16 caravan pitches, these to be a combination of 8 touring caravan pitches with electric hook up and camping pods with electric hook ups.
The applicant stated their aim is to create a "holiday destination for those who crave the romance and tranquillity of the North Lakes countryside".
They added: "The development has been designed to minimise the impact on neighbouring properties and the wider area.
"The areas of the holding chosen for development are in the main hidden from view behind the existing agricultural buildings and the mature gardens of the farm house and further screening will be provided by means of new dry stone walls, hedge planting and tree planting."
