Police and emergency services were called to the scene of an incident in Blackburn town centre on Saturday afternoon.

The Lancashire Telegraph is led to believe that a woman had fallen from the top of Feilden Street car park close to Blackburn College.

The extent of the woman's injuries is not yet known.

Two police vans and a crime scene investigator attended the incident.

As of 3pm on Saturday, emergency services had left the scene, there was no police cordon in place and vehicles were able to drive freely down Feilden Street and the surrounding areas.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called at around 1.05pm on Saturday to reports of concern for safety relating to a woman in Blackburn.

"The woman, aged in her 50s, was quickly located on the roof of a car park on Feilden Street, however a short time later she came off the roof, suffering serious injuries.

"She was taken to hospital, where she remains.

"There are no suspicious circumstances."

On Sunday, a police spokesperson confirmed that the woman was still in hospital 'with serious injuries but thankfully they’re not being treated as life-threatening at this time'.
