A MAN has been charged with drug offences, possession of a firearm and wounding after a man was stabbed in Blackburn.

Detectives investigating an incident in which a man was stabbed several times on Walnut Street on April 3 appealed for information about Fayaz Waka earlier this week.

Yesterday the 22-year-old was arrested at a property in Blackburn and taken to the police station.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Waka, of Preston New Road, Blackburn, was charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin, possession of a firearm and Section 18 wounding.

He is due to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court this morning (April 16).

Two brothers have already been charged and appeared in court in relation to the stabbing.

Ramzan Hanif, 24, and Mahtab Hanif, 22, both of Goldhey Street, Blackburn, appeared at Blackburn magistrates on April 8.
