IT was a busy day for officers keeping the roads of East Lancashire safe on Monday, with several call-outs for a variety of reasons.
Firstly, emergency services were called to deal with a large crash on Haslingden road, in which an eight-year-old boy sustained chest injuries.
One person had to be cut from their vehicle and taken to hospital for treatment, but no serious injuries were diagnosed as a result of the crash.
A police spokesman said: “None was serious injured which can only be down to the quick thinking of one driver involved.
“Thankfully AAA were able to get the road reopened quickly.”
Later on in Blackburn a two vehicle crash resulted in a lamppost falling onto the roof of a parked vehicle.
As a result, Blackburn with Darwen council were called to make the area safe.
Lastly, officers recovered a stolen mope in Accrington.
Elsewhere in the county, a boy was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car in Eccleston.
An appeal for information has now been launched and you can find out more here.
