Under the Government's roadmap out of lockdown, it is hoped restrictions on the number of people permitted to attend weddings and funerals will be completely lifted by summer, with a slight easing coming into force on Monday.
From Monday April 12, as part of Step Two of the roadmap, funerals will be able to continue with up to 30 attendees.
Weddings, outdoor receptions and commemorative events, including wakes, will be able to take place with up to 15 attendees in premises that are permitted to open.
Next week will also see the reopening of non-essential shops, hairdressers, nail salons, libraries and outdoor hospitality venues such as beer gardens.
The announcement was part of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's press conference on Monday, where he confirmed Step Two will go ahead as planned.
Mr Johnson previously said it would only do so depending on the vaccine rollout, its effectiveness and the reduction of hospitalisations in those vaccinated as well as concern over new variants.
This will also guide decisions on whether all limits can be removed on weddings and other life events on June 21.
