SNOW and ice is set to cause problems for people across Bolton later today.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the wintry weather across most of the country.

Most places are set to see icy stretches, possibly leading to some travel disruption with snow falling for some places.

People have been warned to watch out for icy surfaces to prevent injury from slips and falls – particularly on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths

Some roads and railways could also be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services

Forecasters expect to see some snow falling early this afternoon, with the weather warning coming into effect at 5pm.

Wintry conditions are set to continue into Friday, with the warning in place until 11.59pm tomorrow night.
