NEARLY £2000 worth of cigarettes were stolen from a parked car on Monday afternoon, with police hunting for the culprit.

The cigarettes were taken from the passenger seat of a car parked in Greenbank Business Park on Blakewater Road, Blackburn by an unknown offender at around 5.15pm on October 26.

The thief took the cigarettes before escaping in another car driven by an accomplice.

A police spokesperson said: “We have been made aware of a theft from a car, which happened in Blakewater Road, Blackburn, on October 26.

“It appears an unknown offender has stolen just under £2,000 of cigarettes from the passenger seat of the car. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.”

The spokesperson confirmed that no arrests have yet been made and that anyone with information can contact them on 101, quoting log 1200 of October 26, 2020.
