A number of train services have been cancelled due to a points failure system on the line.
Trains running from Preston towards Blackburn and Colne have been cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes, or revised, after train operator, Northern, announced the lines had been blocked.
The disruption is expected until 3.30pm, and travellers are asked to journeycheck.com/northernrail/ for updated information.
A spokesperson for Northern said: "Due to a points problem at Lostock Hall, no trains can run between Preston towards Blackburn and Colne in both directions.
"Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.
"Disruption is expected until 3.30pm on October 22."
