A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage with intent to endanger life after a car was rammed into the front of a house.

At around 10.25pm on August 29, police were called to an incident after receiving reports that a car had been reversed into a house, before being driven away from the scene.

The crash took place on Lune Drive in Morecambe and the car involved is believed to be a Daihatsu Terios Tracker, registration plate OU06 YFH.

The vehicle was later recovered in Deanpoint, Morecambe, on September 2.

Officers are now appealing for information after enquiries established that the vehicle was sold on August 17.

They are keen to speak to the seller, as well as establish the movements of the car between August 17 and September 2.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We were called around 10.25pm on August 29 to reports a vehicle had been reversed into a house on Lune Drive causing structural damage.

"The vehicle, believed to be a Daihatsu Terios Tracker, registration plate OU06 YFH, was driven from the scene and later recovered in Deanpoint, Morecambe, on September 2.

"No one was injured during the incident."

A 22-year-old man from Lancaster was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage with intent to endanger life and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Det Con Ben Heap, of Lancaster CID, said: “This was a shocking and very concerning incident in which a car, believed to be a Daihatsu Terios Tracker, has been used to ram the front of a home in Morecambe causing significant damage. 

“We are appealing to anyone with information about the incident to come forward. 

“We know the car was sold on August 17. Were you the seller?

"Who did you sell the vehicle to?

"Furthermore we would encourage anyone who has seen the vehicle in the Morecambe area in recent weeks to get in touch.”
