BOSSES a Blackburn high school have warned students they have to self-isolate and not flout coronavirus restrictions.
Bosses at St Wilfrid's Academy posted a message to students on their social media channels after all Year 9 students were sent home to self-isolate after several positive tests.
It said: "Following the announcement of Year 9s staying at home, this does mean isolate, which means students not leaving their homes or garden in any circumstances."
It came after a post by headteacher Catherine Huddleston earlier in the day.
It said: "A small cluster of Year 9 students have tested positive for COVID-19. Over the weekend a further child in Year 9 tested positive and having worked with Public Health England (PHE), we have been advised to ask ALL students in Year 9 to remain at home for 14 days.
"I understand that the students concerned are recovering well at home, however, I would ask that you remember these students and their families who are having to isolate themselves in your prayers."
It comes after St Wilfrid’s C of E Academy asked a group of Year 12 pupils to isolate for 14 days until September 24 after a positive coronavirus test.
