A FURTHER 52 people have tested positive for the coronavirus across East Lancashire in the last 24 hours, the latest figures show.

The place where the numbers made the biggest leap was in Blackburn with Darwen, where 16 new cases were registered. The borough has now reported a total 2,113 cases since the start of the outbreak.

Fourteen new infections were registered in Hyndburn, which has now reported 627 cases.

There were 10 new cases in Burnley and seven in Pendle, where 770 and 1,018 cases have now been reported, respectively.

Rossendale has now recorded 437 cases after three new infections over the last 24 hours.

The borough which has recorded the fewest cases, the Ribble Valley, has seen infections rise by two to a total of 254.
