St Wilfrid’s C of E Academy have asked a group of Y12 pupils to isolate for 14 days after a positive coronavirus test.
The school has sent letters to parents whose child has been in ‘close contact’ with the confirmed case, asking the students to self-isolate until 24th September.
Family members were told in the letter that they can continue normal activities unless their child develop symptoms.
Headteacher Catherine Huddleston said: "I can confirm that a student in our Year 12 cohort has tested positive for Covid-19.
"Following advice received from Public Health England, a small number of Year 12 students are studying at home.
"Naturally the student remains in our prayers for a speedy recovery."
