CLITHEROE Country Market will reopen next week after temporarily closing in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It will begin welcoming customers again on Tuesday and hopes to attract new people as well as old customers each week.
Members of the market’s committee, which has been going since 1969, have been busy growing produce during the lockdown.
Taking place at the United Reform Church in the town centre between 10am and noon, traders will be selling home-baked treats and other treats.
Sue Marsden, from the market’s committee, said: “We’re really excited because we have regular customers who might not talk to anyone for a long time.
“It really is more than a market – it’s a meeting place for lots of people. We won’t be able to do that like normal but it will be nice to touch base.”
As well as food, plants and cards will also be on sale at the co-operative market, but the organisers confirmed the crafts area and café would not be reopening because the main area of the church remains closed.
To help prevent the spread of coronavirus, a one-way system will be in place as well as other safety measures.
