ONE of East Lancashire's top fine-dining restaurants has revealed it is getting ready to reopen after the coronavirus lockdown.

Bosses at the Michelin-starred White Swan in Fence said they are excited to be welcoming back customers from Tuesday, July 14 after an enforced four-month lay-off.

A spokesman for the pub said: "It’s finally happening, as of July 14 our doors will be back open and we can’t wait to see you.

"To start with we are only running a set three-course menu charged at £45 per head, but as you probably already know, we don’t do ordinary so you can expect some nice little surprises along the way."

Bosses have been working hard during lockdown to devise ways of keeping diners safe when they come back.

The pub said: "Obviously, we’ve had to change to operate with the ‘new normal’.

"We’ve removed some tables, so we are running with fewer covers but giving you more space.

"We will operate a one-way system, entry through the front door and exit through the back.

"The toilets now have locks on the door, the keys are hung on the wall for all to see, so we are operating a ‘if you see the key, you can go and pee’ policy!"

"Our cleaning procedures have always been tip top but all high traffic areas will receive regular extra sanitisation.

"Everyone will be asked to sanitise their hands before entering the building and other sanitisation stations have been placed around the pub for all to use.

"Unfortunately, it will not be possible to do pre-dinner drinks at the bar, we ask that you arrive at your booked time, you will be shown to your table, drinks will be brought to you quickly.

"Above are just some of the main things we have had to change to operate. We have got all angles covered so If you have any other questions about our procedures please don’t hesitate to contact us we’ll happily reassure you.

"It’s been a long three months, which to be honest we’ve enjoyed, but now it’s time to get back to doing what we do best, making you happy."
