CRICKET-loving youngsters have received a boost with a donation of £1,000 to the regional division of sports charity project Wicketz.
Housebuilder David Wilson Homes made the donation through its ongoing Our Space Your Place programme, which supports community groups in the North West.
Wicketz was created by the 70-year-old Lord Taverners charity to provide free cricket programmes for youngsters, especially those from a disadvantaged background or with disabilities, between the ages of eight and 19.
Lord’s Taverners CEO Paul Robin said: “The Our Space Your Place scheme is a shining example of companies supporting local projects.
“It is vital to their success and key in our work to break down barriers and empower disadvantaged and disabled young people to fulfil their potential and build life skills.”
