Police are reiterating their stance on speeding after a car was clocked doing almost TRIPLE the legal limit on a 30mph road.
On Wednesday, officers from the Nelson Neighbourhood Policing team detected a vehicle hurtling down Halifax Road in Brierfield at a despicable 81mph.
The police are now keen to reinforce their work with Lancashire Road Safety to ensure any drivers caught deliberately and excessively breaking the speed limit will be prosecuted in a court of law.
A spokesperson for the police said: "On Wednesday, on Halifax Road in Brierfield a vehicle was detected at 81mph where the road is a 30mph limit.
"Police have been working in partnership with Lancashire Road Safety following reports of speeding in Nelson.
"Evidentially some people don't adhere to the speed limit and we will continue to prosecute them."
