EMERGENCY services rushed to Holden Fold earlier after a van crashed and ended up on its side in the middle of a busy road, while a car ploughed into railings.
Police and ambulance crews attended the scene in Darwen after receiving reports of the crashed vehicle, which resulted in a minor head injury for the car's driver.
The incident happened shortly after 3pm, with nearby residents Samantha Jones and Samuel McKay describing hearing a "big bang" before seeing it on the road.
The van - believed to be a Virgin Media vehicle - has now been pulled back up by recovery crews.
A Lancashire Police spokeswoman said: "We were called at around 3:25pm this afternoon to the report of a collision on Holden Fold, Darwen.
"It appears the collision has involved a Ford Transit van and VW Passat. The car has gone into some railings and the van has ended up on its side.
"The Ambulance Service attended, the driver of the Passat - a man in his forties- was treated for a minor head injury."
