A NORTH-west bakery has confirmed it will be reopening its three branches in Bury and Radcliffe this Friday.

Bosses at Bolton-based Poundbakery, which also runs Sayers, have confirmed they will be throwing their doors open later this week.

The chain has outlets in The Rock and Haymarket in Bury, as well as a shop in Blackburn Street, Radcliffe.

Another rival bakery, Greenhalgh's has kept it's stores in Princess Parade and The Rock open through the pandemic.

A statement from the companies said: "We are pleased to announce the opening of all our shops from Friday, June 5.

"The opening times will be 9am to 3pm initially and we will be closed on Sundays to start with.

"We will be serving the vast majority of our range, plus a lot of our customers have told us that they are missing our breakfast especially, so we will be serving breakfast all day in our shops for the first few days of opening.

"While we have been closed we have reviewed our existing cleaning and sanitising procedures in order to ensure that we are doing all we can to protect our staff and customers and restrict any potential spread of the virus.

"All or our shops have been deep cleaned and will continue to be cleaned and sanitised every day and all regularly touched areas will be cleaned throughout the day."

The firm added: "One of the main long term problems for local people, jobs and businesses is if people stop going out altogether.

"Please if you're not showing symptoms and are well, please do continue to support ours and other regional businesses as best you can."
