A FURTHER six coronavirus related deaths have been recorded in Lancashire's hospitals, the latest figures have revealed.

Four of those deaths were reported to NHS England by Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, which operates hospitals including the Royal Preston and Chorley.

The trust has now recorded a total of 212 deaths.

The other two deaths were reported from within the Royal Blackburn Hospital or Burnley General, facilities operated by the East Lancashire Hospitals Trust.

A total of 188 coronavirus related deaths have now been reported from within the trust.

Elsewhere, the county's remaining three trusts didn't reported any new deaths over the latest 24-hour period.

The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust have reported 162 deaths since the outbreak began, with a further 186 recorded by Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.

The Southport and Ormskirk NHS Foundation Trust have reported 138 deaths.
