A SPECIAL seminar was held at the Chicago Rock Bar on Hammerton Street, Burnley, in 2003, to help licencees and door supervisors to control the problem of so-called ‘dance drugs’ in the town.
The event was organised by the charity Drugsline Lancashire in response to an increasing availability of drugs in the area.
Paula Slinger, dance drugs safety co-ordinator for Drugsline, based in Blackburn, had some of the specially-made ‘Dance safely’ rock which would be handed out in the nightclubs of Burnley along with 1,000 information packs on the dangers of drugs and how to avoid them.
