A DRIVER was found to be three times over the legal alcohol limit after members of the public raised the alarm with police.
The Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) said in an update: "A female driver was stopped in the Batley area after concerned members of the public rang the police suspecting the driver had been drinking.
"The driver was required to provide a specimen of breath at the road side and blew 110. Over three times the legal limit.
"The driver who is believed to have driven over 100 miles to Batley, was arrested at scene."
Other jobs for the team in the past week included "several" crashes and:
- A Seat seized in the Heckmondwike area. The driver was reported no insurance and driving without a license. Police became aware of the driver a few days before and had been making enquiries to locate the car when it was sighted whilst travelling to another job.
- A Mitsubishi was seized from the Birkenshaw area, following calls reporting dangerous and anti-social driving. The vehicle was also uninsured.
