A BMW driver who abandoned a freshly purchased Greggs pizza slice along with a stash of cannabis following a late night police chase, is being hunted by officers.

At around 11pm on Saturday, officers in Blackburn were pursuing the blue BMW 20 on Davenport Road in the town.

Due to what police are calling the 'poor standard of driving', the car crashed into a metal fence and the driver made off.

Posting on social media, a spokesperson for the police said: "Officers have been involved in a pursuit on Davenport Road, Blackburn with a Blue BMW 320.

"Unfortunately due to the poor standard of driving the BMW, the driver crashed into a metal fence and didn't stick around to speak with officers.

"On searching the vehicle a quantity of cannabis was found along with a recently purchased Greggs pizza slice.
