TWO people have appeared in court charged with causing the death of a man on a Barrow-bound train.
An investigation was launched after David Clark, 56, suffered a fatal cardiac arrest on board a train at Silverdale railway station.
The Northern service was travelling between Preston and Barrow.
Nicola Cavin, 22, from Market Street, Grange, and David Noble, 32, of Main Street, also Grange, denied unlawfully killing Mr Clark.
Police and paramedics were called to Silverdale station shortly before 9.30pm on March 2 last year.
The train was evacuated and Mr Clark was taken to hospital where he died on the following morning.
The defendants are expected to appear for their trial at Preston Crown Court on May 26.
Mr Clark’s family paid tribute to him at the time.
“David was a very popular character in the local community,” they said. “One thing that we have been shown through this tragedy is that David will be so sadly missed by his many friends.”
