A FARMER from East Lancashire has appeared in court accused of illegally dumping on his land two years ago.
In a prosecution by the Environment Agency, John Leslie Allison, 74, has been charged under the Environmental Protection Act for offences alleged to have taken place between August and September 2017.
He has been accused of two offences each of both depositing controlled waste and allowing waste to be left on land at Hubbs House Farm, Southfield Lane, Colne.
Allison is joined in the dock by one firm and five other individuals, who each face similar allegations.
Environmental Concern Ltd, of South Yardley, Birmingham, Andrew Morris, of Johnston Street, West Bromwich, Matthew Dyer, of Bromsgrove Road, Redditch, Kenneth Morris, of Hams Road, Birmingham, and Carl Rogers and Georgina Rogers, both of Red Rock Lane, Haigh, near Wigan.
The case will next be heard by Blackburn magistrates on January 9, at the request of defence solicitors.
