A MAN from Ulverston has been banned from driving for 18 months after pleading guilty to drink-driving.
John Thomas Henry Platt, of Rydal Road, provided a sample with a reading of 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was stopped by police in Priory Road on November 15.
The 69-year-old, represented in court by defence solicitor Mike Graham, was disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £140 and also told to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
Magistrates agreed Platt could complete the drink-driving rehabilitation course.
