A NEWSAGENT has launched a bid to open a store in Barrow selling products from Romania, Russia, Lithuania and Poland.
An application has been submitted to Barrow Borough Council to change the use of the former City Lynx base in Church Street.
The applicant has already invested £3,500 in equipment and fixtures and fittings for the newsagents including a till, fridge, cigarette cabinet, security cameras and shelving.
In the application the businessman states: "Barrow is a multicultural town with many Romanians, Polish, Lithuanians, Russians and many more.
"My idea is to give them a taste of home and give the wider community the chance to experience other foods."
The application states the businessman hopes to expand into bigger premises. He also reveals he is starting the business 'from scratch'.
