BLACKBURN Rovers dedicated their match against Barnsley to a hospital charity.
The game saw ELHT&Me, East Lancashire Hospitals Trust's official charity, hold a bucket collection in the grounds prior to the match last Saturday and an awareness stall in the FanZone.
Hundreds of staff and their families attended the game with proceeds from those tickets all going to the charity, which is one of the clubs official chosen charities for the season.
The Rovers team warmed-up in ELHT&Me t-shirts, and at half-time director of communications and engagement, Christine Hughes, and the charity’s mascot ELMORE, made an appearance on the pitch.
The charity’s player ambassador, Darragh Lenihan, played his first game in almost two months after injuring his knee, with Rovers' winning the match 3-2.
Ms Hughes said: “From conception all through life we all turn to our local hospital.
“ELHT&Me, your hospital charity, is delighted to have been chosen by Darragh Lenihan and Blackburn Rovers.
“Please help us make a difference, above and beyond the NHS standard, every day in your local hospital. We have never needed your support more to make the patient experience even better."
