Eighties icons Boy George, Madonna and the Wham! boys are sure to make dress-up appearances at an 80s fancy dress night being organised by an East Lancs mum who is battling cancer for the second time.
Lesley Greenall-Rollinson, is hosting the event in aid of the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, who treated her for cancer after she was first diagnosed in June 2017.
Mrs Greenall-Rollinson, who is originally from Great Harwood, but now lives in Foulridge with husband Shane and children Declan (21) and Lauren (18), said: "One of the ironies about my situation is that I started with anal cancer but I work at Accrol Papers Ltd in Blackburn, making toilet rolls.
"On a more serious note though, all the staff at Rosemere Cancer Centre have been brilliant and this is my way of hopefully raising a few quid to help them to do the best job they can."
At the beginning of this year, doctors told the 50-year-old that her cancer had spread to her spine and she is now back at Rosemere undergoing chemotherapy.
She said: "It is what it is. I have a treatment plan. I’m all about keeping things light and humorous."
The 80s charity night, which will feature a raffle, auction and dj, will take place on Saturday November 30 from 7 pm, at Tj’s The Juniper in Great Harwood.
Tickets cost £10 each with every penny going to Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
Event tickets are available from Tj’s The Juniper and via its Facebook page at @tjsthejuniper.
Raffle tickets can be bought from The Green Olive, Carol at Towngate Café, Dan at Clayton Street chip shop and Angela at the chicken shop.
