SEVERAL planning applications were approved at the Crosthwaite and Lyth Parish Council meeting,

However, the application relating to The High, Crosthwaite, was not approved.

A letter would be sent to the Lake District National Park Authority (LDNPA) setting out the council’s objections to this application and drawing on information discussed at the meeting.

South Lakeland District Council councillor John Holmes reported on several issues being considered by the SLDC, including looking at the installation of seven charging points for electric cars and free parking on every Sunday in December.

There had been good progress in developing the Neighbourhood Plan and funding had been secured to continue the project.

Progress had also been made on the village walkway. Cllr Roger Smith had secured the support of the SLDC. The next stage was to apply for funding.
A new slate plaque for Jubilee Wood would be assembled.

The parish council are looking for a volunteer in the parish who would be happy to put up and take down the speed indicator sign in the village. If anyone had the time, email Martin French at crosthwaiteandlythpc@hotmail.co.uk.
