Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with drugs offences.

On Wednesday at around 3pm, officers from the Targeted Crime Team witnessed a suspected drugs transaction being carried out on Shaw Street in Blackburn.

A spokesperson for the police said: "A car believed to be involved left the area before later being found nearby.

"Following enquiries, we arrested a man on suspicion of a drugs offence.

"Shamas Shah, aged 25, from Tenby Close, Blackburn has now been charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs."

Shah will appear before Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
