THE new series of a hit TV show is currently being filmed on Lancashire’s streets.

Cast and crew working on ITV television series The Bay were spotted filming on St Thomas’ Road in Chorley ahead of the second season.

Scenes for the show, which is based on the coast in Morecambe, have also been filmed in Manchester and Whitehaven.

The explosive first series followed Detective Sergeant Lisa Armstrong, played by Morven Christie, as she investigated the disappearance of teenage twins – one of whom later turned up dead.

But the Detective Sergeant’s life became increasingly more frantic throughout the series, as she battled with keeping her own two children on the straight and narrow and away from trouble.

The single mum also faced further trouble when she discovered a man she had a drunken affair with was in fact the married stepfather of the two missing teenagers.

The storyline played out over six episodes starting in March of this year, with series two announced in May.

It is not yet known when the new season will hit our screens.
