ARNSIDE...

THE Royal National Lifeboat Institution fundraising team in Arnside, celebrates the national initiative known as Fish Week from tomorrow (Friday) to October 12. RNLI lifeboats last year went to the aid of more than 400 fishing boats around the coast; such as the fishing boats that catch the fish for Arnside chippy. Collection boxes will be in Arnside Fish and Chip shop and around the promenade during the week. Your generosity in support of this vital service is much appreciated.
There will be a bucket collection outside Bullough’s Londis all day on October 11. Then on October 12, Morecambe Hovercraft, out on exercise, will pay a visit to Arnside in time for the crew to enjoy a fish and chip lunch. The crew will be available on the promenade at noon but note that the hovercraft visit will depend on the weather and potential call-outs.

A DEMENTIA-friendly walk organised by the Arnside and Silverdale AONB Partnership will take place on Tuesday, October 8 (10am-11am). This is an easy, guided walk aimed at people living with dementia and their carers. Afterwards, there will be the chance for a chat and a cuppa in one of the local cafés. Meet outside the Albion on the promenade (10am). No need to book. For further information, telephone the project leader, Feleena Taylor on 07474-588585 or the AONB partnership on 01524-761034.
