INGLETON...

SUE Brash hosted her annual Macmillan coffee morning at Ingleton Community Centre.

There was a great selection of cakes on sale which Ms Brash had baked and the event was very well supported.

All prizes for the big raffle were donated by local businesses, friends and supporters of the charity. The event raised £1,000. Ms Brash has been running this annual event for three years and has raised more than £5,300.

LOWGILL AND TATHAM...

MEMBERS and supporters of St James the Less Church, Tatham, pulled out all the stops to raise £1,040 with a jumble sale held at Hornby Institute.

Besides clothes and home furnishings, there were homemade preserves and produce, bric-a-brac, chairs, a scooter and shoes on sale plus a raffle.

SIX intrepid souls recently set-off from the Old School, Tatham Fells, on the Good Shepherd Church walk.

John Wilson led the eight-mile walk, which headed north past Maiden Bridge and Oak Head, attracting three more walkers, before joining Mill Lane, Low Bentham, and heading east along the south bank of the river Wenning.

After a packed lunch the walkers braved the footpath up the side of Moulterbeck, heading back south via Fourstones and Rantreefold to the Old School where they were met by Sara Mason with a welcome hot drink and cake.
