A CAT that had been trapped behind kitchen cabinets had to be rescued by firefighters.
A fire crew from Blackburn was called out to a flat at Hollin Bank Court, Blackburn, at around 8pm last night.
They released the black cat using small tools to dismantle the units.
The cat was unharmed and firefighters had attended the scene for around one hour.
Crew manager Alice O'Donnell, of Blackburn fire station, said: "One crew from Blackburn was called at 8pm last night to reports of a cat stuck behind kitchen units at a flat at Hollin Bank Court in Blackburn.
"We used small tools to dismantle a few of the units.
"We were there for a good hour as the cat was scared and wouldn't come out.
"It was a youngish cat, black in colour, and we had to use food to prise it out.
"But the cat was fine and was unharmed so it was a happy ending."
