LIFELONG Clarets fan Stewart Scott will attempt to score the winning vote for the Brexit Party at the next general election.

The married businessman, will contest the Burnley constituency in the next General Election, currently held by Labour's Julie Cooper MP.

Mr Scott said after his selection: “I grew up in Rishton and moved to Burnley in 1979 when my parents bought an off licence on Myers Street near the Duke Bar .

“I’m not university educated but I'm experienced in business and life.

“My businesses have mainly been based in Burnley and Rosegrove. We work mainly in the energy and charity sectors.

“I have been watching Burnley Football club since I was very young. I love the club fans and the town very much,

"The great people of Burnley and Padiham voted 66.6 per cent in favour of Leave. I felt I must do something to ensure the biggest democratic vote in UK history is implemented."
