THREE men are being sought in connection with disorder after a football match between Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End in March.

Police were called at around 4.25pm, on March 9, following reports of fighting between fans of both clubs after the game at Ewood Park.

The group, in Northgate, was dispersed by officers with fans escorted from the area.

One man was punched during the incident suffering a head injury. He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment.

Seven men were later spoken with by police in connection with the incident.

Detectives want to speak to three men, believed to be Preston North End fans, in connection with the disorder.

Police have only now (today) launched an appeal for information. 

PC Dan Fish, Lancashire Police’s football risk management officer, said: “We are appealing for information following serious disorder involving Blackburn Rovers and Preston North Ends fans in March.

“We particularly want to speak to these three men in connection with our enquiries.

“Since the incident took place we have tried to these individuals with the support of fans and both clubs, but as yet have no further information.

“We are now launching a public appeal to identify them. If you know those pictured, please come forward.”
