A LETTING agent is forced to remove two tenants after receiving several complaints from neighbours and tenants - including one of them allegedly putting his hand around another tenant's throat.

Paul Ainsworth-Lord is put into a difficult decision to remove a young couple from a rented house in Blackburn.

Mr Ainsworth-Lord, of Ainsworth-Lord Estates in Darwen, appeared on this week's episode of Channel 5's Nightmare Tenants, Slum Landlords.

The letting agency owner said he received several complaints of loud music, police incidents, fighting and threatening behaviour towards other tenants in one of the properties he manages.

Ashley and Shaylen visited by Mr Ainsworth-Lord and are given a deal to leave the house without occurring any eviction or court costs, which could run up to £2,000 to Ashley's father, the couple's rent guarantor.

Shaylen refuses to accept there has been complaints from neighbours.

Mr Ainsworth-Lord speaks to the other tenant, Chris, alone, who moved out for the time being due to the couple's behaviour.

Speaking to Mr Ainsworth-Lord, Chris said: "I think its all a matter of disrespect.

"There's a lot of noise.

"People are coming over when they're not supposed to come over, it all got too much ever since they moved in.

"It's all been piling up.

"He grabbed my neck and just went straight at it."

The couple are given three weeks to get out of the house, but when Mr Ainsworth-Lord returns Shaylen still refuses to leave while Ashley begs for more time.

Ashley said: "Since we got the notice we have kept everything down.

"We are only young and don't have jobs right now, we are trying to find somewhere else to live and its really difficult.

"We need to try and find a first months rent

"It would be a lot easier to stay here.

"If we did have a chance we would not mess up."

Deciding to give them one last chance, Mr Ainsworth-Lord decides to call a house meeting and if he finds all parties are happy for the couple to stay then he will allow it.

However on the day of the meeting Chris decided to not go to the meeting and the pair were told to leave.

Ashley said: "I don't want to move out because I don't have anywhere to go, neither does Shaylen.

"We don't have the money to go anywhere else.

"I would rather be homeless than go to my parents, in the nicest way possible."

The couple leave the home and move back to their parent's houses.

Mr Ainsworth-Lord visits the home and finds a bong, notices a strong smell of cannabis in the house as well as rubbish and empty food packets on the floor.

He said: "I'm done with them.

"I gave them chances, I gave them too many chances by normal standards.

"You make your bed and you lie in it.

"If we were renting to robots we wouldn't have the human element, and its the human element that complicates it all.

"Dealing with personalities, she was quite co-operative, he was the little awkward one and he influenced her.

"We can draw a line in the sand and everyone can move on."
