A six month evening curfew has been imposed on a Carlisle man who was caught by police carrying drugs and an illegal pepper spray.

Adam Joseph Bainbridge, 25, admitted having the class A drug cocaine and the class B drug cannabis on October 7 last year. On the same date he was also caught with a gas pepper spray.

Magistrates sitting at the city's Rickergate court also ordered that the defendant undergo drug rehabilitation under guidance from Unity for a period of three months.

The curfew will run each evening from 8pm to midnight.

Bainbridge, of Greta Avenue, Morton, must also pay £85 prosecution costs and the same amount as a victim surcharge. The drugs and the pepper spray will be forfeited and destroyed, said magistrates.
