Man arrested on suspicion of murder in Barrow
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a pensioner.
Police were called at around 6.40pm yesterday to a report of a man in his 70s, who had suffered a serious injury at Provincial Street, Barrow.
The injured man had suffered severe injuries to his throat and chest and was declared dead at the scene.
A man, aged in his 20s, has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He is currently in police custody.
Officers remain at the scene and detectives are asking that anyone with knowledge or information about this incident who has not yet come forward does so.
