FOUR fire engines and two wildfire units were called out to a blaze at Humphrey Head point, near Allithwaite.
On Saturday, at around 8.25pm, firefighters from Ulverston, Millon, Milnthorpe and Grange discovered a fire involving approximately 500 by 100 metres of grass spreading along the cliff edge.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "On arrival the crews discovered a fire involving approximately 500 by 100 metres of grass and gorse spreading along the foreshore and cliff edge.

"Wildfire land rovers, high pressure jets, one major base pump, two light portable pumps and wildfire teams were utilised to extinguish the fire."
They were at the scene for three hours.
