CORONATION Street favourite Bruce Jones will star in the family pantomime at Colne Muni in January.

Bruce - Les Battersby in the top TV soap - will play Abanazar in Aladdin which will run for 30 performances from January 3.

He will be joined by Kelsey Beth Crossley who played Scarlett Nicholls in Emmerdale as Princess Jasmine.

Aladdin will be played by Sean Smith, one half of the brother and sister duo Same Difference who came third on X Factor in 2007.

For 2020, Pendle Leisure Trust has joined forces with Shone Productions to bring audiences this new magical version of Aladdin.

Producer James Shone said: "We could not be happier to be producing this year's pantomime at the Muni Theatre in Colne. We have visited the theatre a couple of times and it's a lovely venue. We are very excited to be performing there and we promise to bring the biggest pantomime the theatre has ever seen.

"Aladdin is a wonderful story that everyone knows and loves and this will truly be an amazing spectacle for all the people of Colne.”

Sue Madigan, publicity manager for Pendle Leisure Trust, said: "Shone Productions came to the Muni with the Wizard of Oz earlier this year and audiences loved the show.

"We can't wait to see what they will do with the story of Aladdin and to have Les Battersby playing the ultimate panto villain is going to be something really special."
