A MAN has been ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work after admitting drink-driving and driving without insurance near Winchester.
Simon Fraser pleaded guilty to both offences when he appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court.
The 45-year-old, of Deneside Copse, Pennington, was caught more than two and a half times the drink-drive limit when his Peugeot Partner was stopped by officers on the A272 on February 27.
Fraser gave a reading of 217milligrammes, the legal limit is 80 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.
At the same time, officers discovered he was driving without insurance.
As well as being given a community order, including the unpaid work, magistrates banned Fraser from driving for 28 months, and ordered him to pay £45 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
