MOTORISTS are being warned to expect delays on a main road in Burnley after a deer was hit by a vehicle.
The incident happened on Colne Road this morning at 6.36am after reports that the animal was in the road.
Duty Inspector Lee Turner said: "It was up near the Oaks Hotel and the deer has suffered head injuries as it was hit by a vehicle.
"We have put some road closures in place while we deal with the incident.
"We are stopping traffic getting onto Reedley Drive.
"There may be disruption for motorists in the area."
