A BLACKBURN man has been made subject of a football banning order despite not being convicted of an offence.
Blackburn magistrates heard Mark Riley did not oppose the order which was made against a background of involvement in football related disorder over a number of years.
Chris Kehoe, prosecuting for Lancashire Police, said going back over at least five years Riley had been involved in violence and disorder at football matches involving Blackburn Rovers.
"We are seeking an order for three years, which is the minimum, reflecting his acceptance of the order and the fact he appears to be taking some responsibility for his behaviour," said Mr Kehoe.
Riley, 22, of Elgar Close, Blackburn, accepted the making of the banning order which will be in place for three years.
