THE annual soapbox challenge returns this spring, with racers taking it to new lengths to support a charitable cause.

Stubbylee Park’s soapbox challenge in Bacup always proves to be a hit with families, as children enjoy racing with colourful designs they helped make.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday May 11, at noon. Entries are welcome to the event that supports vulnerable people, such as those with learning difficulties.

Children will also have plenty to do on the day, with face painting, and other fun activities, as well as the Stables Café being open all day.
