A woman has been cut from a car after it smashed into a lamp post following a crash.
Emergency services were called to the incident near the traffic lights on Blackamoor Road, close to Lower Darwen, at around 9am on Sunday.
A spokesperson for the fire service said that a Toyota Yaris had been driving towards Darwen and had been hit by a Volkswagen Golf, causing it to crash into a lamp post.
The spokesperson said: "The female driver of the Yaris had to be cut from the car and she was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital by ambulance suffering from leg injuries."
The male driver of the Golf was not thought to be injured in the crash.
Fire crews remained at the scene for around 45 minutes and the road was closed for approximately half an hour.
An engineer from Blackburn with Darwen council was also called to assess the safety of the lamp post.
